GREEN-DUWAMISH WATERSHED ALLIANCE (GDWA)

Connecting people, organizations and governments to restore the Green-Duwamish Watershed for all who live, work, study, and visit there.

Education

Members of GDWA work with schools and community members to increase awareness of how we as individuals affect the watershed in which we live–on a local level, as well as the greater regional level.

Conservation and Restoration

To restore the watershed we must look at various conservation and restoration opportunities in the watershed and be able to react to these opportunities as they arise. Currently, members of GDWA are reaching out to shoreline landowners along the Duwamish River in order to help them create a healthier riparian corridor on their land.

Stewardship

Successful restoration is dependent upon ongoing stewardship–community members caring for these projects in perpetuity. In time, we envision restoration projects along the river and its tributaries connecting one to another to create a contiguous, cohesive restored watershed.
